Relationships, Sex and Health Education
RSHE stands for Relationship, Health and Sex Education and is taught to all pupils as part of the Personal Development curriculum. It is every student’s right to receive effective, age appropriate education on RSHE as this helps them to navigate the modern world and understand the dangers and risks, many of which were not there for older generations, and take steps to keep themselves safe and healthy.
At Rivers we take RSHE very seriously and it is taught by a small team of specialist staff in the Wellbeing team who receive regular training. We also make use of outside specialist organisations to complement the curriculum.
Our RSHE policy can be viewed by clicking the link here. The materials we use are always available to be viewed by parents upon request and we hold an annual consultation event for parents.
If you are a parent of a student at Rivers Academy and have any feedback on the RSHE policy or question, please complete our feedback form by clicking here.
