It is important for our students to set aside time to think about their future and what career path they are drawn to. They can do this in a variety of ways, but there are two main things to think about:
- What do I like doing? How do I like to spend my free time? Do I have hobbies and interests that I want to take further?
- What am I good at? Which subjects at school do I excel in? What are my main strengths?
Students can select an online careers tool to help them explore future options further:
Unifrog:
Every student at Rivers Academy has an individual account with Unifrog. This will be used in school during AM and PHSE time, it can however be accessed by students outside of school. It has a range of career related resources and information and aims to help guide students towards a career pathway of their choosing.
Each student has their own individual account and can log on in school or at home.

National Careers Service:
Provides impartial information, advice, and guidance to help you make decisions on learning, training, and work.
Qualified careers advisers can be contacted by phone, webchat, and email. They will call you back if you submit your telephone number through an online form.
Face-to-face appointments at a local National Careers Service office, can also be arranged over the telephone.

First Careers offers guidance to primary and secondary school students in making decisions about future careers and professions.

TARGET careers help young people to make smart decisions about their future. Investigate careers that interest you and decide whether to do an apprenticeship or go to university, then get applying.
