Self-worth, engagement, purpose. These are the three guiding principles behind education at Rivers Academy, West London which is accepting applications for Year 7 places in September 2025.

For families with children transferring to secondary schools next year, the October 31st deadline for applications looms. Rivers Academy is a popular and successful school and will be holding an open evening on Thursday 26th September from 5.30pm.

Located in Tachbrook Road, Feltham, Rivers provides a nurturing and supportive learning environment. It recently won a silver Fair School Admissions Award in recognition of its work to create equal opportunities for all students and to enhance diversity and inclusion.

The school is operated by Aspirations Academies Trust which is committed to providing all children with the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background. Academies in the trust work to a curriculum rich in power skills with a strong emphasis on employability. Alongside subjects such as English, maths, and science, and vocational subjects such as law,  enterprise, and sport, the ‘No Limits’ curriculum developed by the Trust develops students’ skills in problem solving, critical thinking, and creativity. There is a strong emphasis on project based learning to encourage students to understand how to apply knowledge in a real world context.

Leadership, entrepreneurship and work readiness are encouraged through a variety of initiatives, including the Aspirations Employability Diploma, undertaken in Years 12 and 13, which sees small groups of students working to a brief set by a local business. Teams from the school have reached the finals of the annual competition run every year since its inception.

In a packed extra curricular programme, pupils are offered the chance to participate in regular trips both locally and further afield:

“We have all the culture and history London has to offer right on our doorstep, ” says Assistant Principal, Joe Williams, “it’s a privilege to be able to introduce our students to it. Our regular trip to Bournemouth and the Jurassic coast is also popular!”

Consistently ranking high in the tables for results, students at Rivers Academy exceeded expectations at both GCSE and A level this summer.
